I would like to see the plan of the apartment.
Great vacations, next time we`l come for more time.
Very friendly staff, great location near Rialto bridge and supermarket, not noisy place. Smart planning of apartments. Fast Wi-Fi. Venice is fantastic!
The Apartment was as described, great location
The Apartment was as described. Enjoyed the lift and Apartment facilities. We were met by Bruno at Rialto Stop and quickly introduced to all procedures. We found great places for coffee and food.
We enjoyed everything about our stay in Venice. The apartment was spacious, clean and well equipped to meet all our needs. It's located in a hustling but central area, making it easy to get everywhere quickly. Caroline and her team were great at communicating with us. Whenever we come back to Venice we will definitely want to stay at their apartment again!
Marvellous week in the centre of Venice
Central location Air conditioned Good back up service
What a lovely flat! We were met at the ferry stop from the airport by a charming and dapper gent, who showed us to the flat, pointed out useful things like the supermarket and took our word for the fact we'd pay the city tax on the way out. It's well appointed, has everything you could need, decent aircon and is very, very central. Just do it.
With the sun and the warm welcome of the owner ( who moved to lead us to our accommodation ) we started our stay. After visiting the apartment, modern and clean, and the advice of our host, we could admire Venice and forth . Perfectly located (center of Venice for tourist attractions , grocers nearby), the appartemet also allowed us to rest between each trip to discover Venice. We can only recommend such housing in such a city !
The overall experience was excellent: we were Welcomed by Bruno at the vaporetto stop in Rialto, he showed us the flat and gave us several tips for our stay in Venice. The description in the listing and the pictures are quite accurate, apart from one point: the additional bed in the single sleeping room is actually a pretty uncomfortable sleeper chair (hard and covered in fake leather). I told this to Bruno and he remarked that he will ask the owner to replace it with a bed. The location is absolutely fantastic: the apartment is located 5 minutes from Rialto and only a bit further from San Marco, exactly as stated in the description.
Our arrival in Venice was around 1pm, check-in was 3pm we stored our luggage in the railway station and explored the city. I telephoned Caroline e Marco to arrange a check-in time of 6pm which suited us both. The agent, Bruno (approachable, excellent spoken English), met us off the Vaporetto at the Rialto Bridge, and walked us to the apartment (genuinely 2 minutes walk from Rialto) crossing only one bridge with our suitcases with Bruno indicating venues of interest . At the apartment what you see in the photographs is EXACTLY what you get. Beautiful. Perfect. Serene. Calm. Superbly appointed. The white leather sofa is beautiful quality; furniture from my favourite Italian company Calligaris (swoon) and such an impeccably clean environment you'd swear it could be used for surgery! There wasn't one single thing we had to buy besides food and drink. There's a full sized hairdryer in the bathroom, vacuum cleaner and washing machine/dryer (didn't use either of these, but handy if you travel with family). There were toiletries in the bathroom to get you through the first day and no skimping on the availability of towels, dishwasher tablets, etc etc. After Bruno had shown us everything, he invited us to sit down and he proceeded to give us a run down of what's available in Venice, helped us log on to the wifi answered questions about the history of gondoliers and many more besides. He provided a map and wrote information on it. He was kind, entertaining, knowledgeable and pretty slick with his smartphone. He provided his mobile (cell) number in case we needed any help and then departed to give us time to unpack, relax and explore. We wanted to let family/friends know we'd arrived but found the wifi glitchy. We found a workaround that meant that only 1 person could log on with one device at a time. After a few days and discussing this with other travellers (in hotels and other apartment) it appeared to be the norm for them too. That was on Monday evening. On Thursday evening we had a telephone conversation about check out and inventory as we'd an early departure time on Friday. Everything was in order. Nothing was any trouble, and I have to say that our experience of this apartment, of our interactions with the agency and with their on the ground agent, Bruno, were faultless. This is what every traveller needs when they go abroad. The security and reassurance of perfect accommodation awaiting you at the end of a long day exploring. We cooked in the apartment, and we also ate out at Bruno's recommended restaurant. Both experiences were lovely and after talking to other travellers in the city we felt we'd had the best experience possible. Grazie Caroline e Marco e Bruno; e Ciao!
A great stay in great apartments !
Really very good & spacious apartment. Ideal for family of 3 - 4 people. There was everything you needed. Excellent location. A very warm welcome from Mr. Bruno. I can definitly recommend this apartment !
We loved our stay at Lion's 3. Check in was a breeze. Marco was waiting for us when we stepped off the vaporetto at the Rialto stop. And what a wonderful host he was! He provided a thorough orientation to the apartment and took his time to make sure we understood how to operate the appliances, what to do in the event of a power shut off, in addition to recommending favorite spots to eat and get gelato. As a result, we highly recommend a meal at Acqua Stanca in Murano! The apartment itself was contemporary, comfortable, and well-appointed. It is far better than the photos, and the location is ideal.
AWESOME EXPERIENCE!!! Awesome LOCATION!! Apartment clean, nicely appointed and great air conditioning in hot summer!! and Marco was SO HELPFUL with my late arrival due to change in flight plans and lost luggage. Cannot thank him enough for making my trip to Venice FANTASTIC!!! Highly recommend booking with them!!!!
Good, clean and centrally located
Three of us stayed here for 5 days in June and thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Venice. The organisation from the time of booking until we left Venice was very good, we were met at the Rialto Bridge vaporetto stop and taken to the apartment. It was located in a small alley which didn't look too appealing at first as there was scaffolding up on the next building. It was behind a bustling street which had many shops and restaurants. The apartment though was modern, clean, quiet and well equipped with microwave, dish washer, washing machine, hairdryer, toiletries and a small safe. The twin bedroom had a small ensuite. Also had free wifi. It was very centrally located, 10 mins from St Marks Sq, 5 mins from Rialto Bridge and market. We were very pleased with the apartment and the friendliness and organisation of the Red House Co. reps. Would certainly stay here again when next in Venice.
Nicely renovated and very convenient-
My daughter and I rented Apt 3 in the end of May 2015. It was exactly as depicted on the VRBO site - very nicely renovated inside in the hallways as well as the apartment itself (even though it is in a old building). It is surprisingly bright in the apartment even though there is no real view - all the windows look toward the walls of other buildings, but since it's the 3rd floor, lots of light comes in. There is a very useful (and unusual for Venice) lift to the 3rd floor. The beds were very comfortable and the Wifi and air conditioner worked very well (although since there is no AC vent in the bedroom, you must keep the bedroom door open throughout the night open if you want to keep cool air coming into the bedroom). The main bathroom was spacious and modern with an excellent shower. It was nice having the extra half bath in the small bedroom. The living room/kitchen is just one relatively small room with a couch in the kitchen - so there is no separate living area apart from the kitchen. This however was fine for us, as we were out of the apartment most of each day. The kitchen appliances were relatively new and perfectly fine for making small meals. When the stove had a problem one night, Marco had it fixed quickly. This apartment is perfect for a couple with one or two kids, but not really for a group much larger than that. For two couples, one will have a large master bedroom and the other a much smaller bedroom with a twin bed and a futon bed. The location is ideal - it really is about 2 minutes walk to Ponte Rialto and about 10 minutes to San Marco (provided you don't get too lost, which everyone inevitably does at some point.) There are a two fine Coop supermarkets near the apartment, and plenty of restaurants, gelaterie and shops on the neighboring streets.
The apartment is very clean, spacious and comfortable. The kitchen is equipped with almost everything possibly needed, including a salad spinner. The heating is good, wooden floors are very warm too, and the windows are well insulated, so that the street noises did not disturb us in the least. There are two bathrooms, but only one of them has a shower. The location is very convenient: close to main sites, also there's a supermarket in a few minutes walking distance. Beware of a EUR 50 charge for late arrival (after 8pm).
Fantastic Apartment, Great Location
We stayed in the Lions House Apartment 3 which is in a great location and is extremely clean and well maintained. It is furnished tastefully and has a washing machine and all kitchen appliances you could require, with the possible exception of a DVD player or Movie Channels on the pay TV. Our dealings with the company who managed this apartment were professional, they met us at the Rialto Bridge on our arrival and walked us to the apartment and provided a walkthrough of all amenities. We would definitely recommend this apartment and would return again when next in Venice.
friendly, understanding and trustworthy owners
I booked a five night stay here at Oct half term but due to a mix up with booking reservations it turned out that my partner had also booked and paid for a stay elsewhere in Venice. I contacted the owners immediately by telephone and (Marco ? i think) was really helpful and understanding about the mix up - he instantly agreed to refund the £600 euros or so that I had paid via paypal and the booking was cancelled. The refund duly arrived the next day. I think their flats look great and would definitely consider renting one in future.
Great apartment in Venice
Great location very close to Rialto Bridge and not far from San Marco. The apartment was very clean and and the kitchen and bathroom had all new fixtures and appliances (stove, oven, refrigerator, and dishwasher). The kitchen was very well equipped. The apartment also had a washing machine, drying rack and iron which was convenient for laundering our clothes. We were greeted by one of the owners and escorted to the apartment. He took time to get us settled in and go over the map with us. If I were to return to Venice I would rent this or another of The Red House Company's apartments again.
Value for money.
We stayed in Apartment 3. Spacious and comfortable apartment. It is Lift access so that we don't have to carry our heavy luggage going up stairs.well equip kitchen and also a washing machine. Located in between Rialto bridge and St. Marco square, very convenient location. Pictures show here are exactly the same as the real apartment. Highly recommended,
Very strategic located apartment. Very clean & spacious. Well equiped kitchen. With washing machine. Lift access apartment so we don't have to carry our heavy luggage go upstairs. Free wifi work well and sky tv with multiple international channels. Worth for money spent.
Brilliantly appointed apartment and wonderful location
The Red House Company were so helpful and efficient right from our first contact with them. Marco and Caroline were charming and very helpful in their recommendations as to where to eat etc. The flat was clean, bright and airy with 2 good sized bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms. The kitchen was fully equipped including coffee percolator and juicer! Sky TV and WiFi and a safe all included. 3 minute walk to the Rialto but very quiet at night. Felt totally safe all hours of day and night. Lion House is on a steet with a Co-op market, local groceries and bakeries and cafes - perfect. Brilliant Gelateria for late night munchies!
Modern, clean and great location
The apartment was great. Clean, modern, all amenities new, aircon and great location. Close to both Rialto steps and San Marco square. Loved our stay in Venice. Would definitely use same company to choose accommodation in Venice next time. Thanks
Perfect for families, great location
This 2-br apartment is perfect for families and the location is wonderful--close enough to San Marco and Rialto, but not so close you feel smothered by constant activity when you are relaxing at the apartment. The neighborhood has many nearby restaurants in all price ranges and is peaceful at night. Checkin/out worked perfectly--our contact met us at the Rialto vaporetto stop (I called from the airport) and helped us with our luggage to the apartment to check in. (Finding addresses in Venice is not easy for a first-timer!) The apartment itself is comfortable, with new furnishings and everything in good working order. The kitchen was good for reheating takeout, making coffee in the mornings, and making a simple breakfast or snack. Having the second bathroom was especially nice (when traveling with a teenaged girl!), but note that it is a 1/4 bath (no shower or bath facility in the second bathroom). The building is very secure and the keys all worked perfectly (nothing worse than struggling to make keys work!). The bed in the larger room was really nice--maybe more comfortable than mine at home! The Wi-Fi worked great, with no hassle. I've stayed at many hotels in Italy that claim to offer this service, but they rarely work. It was great to have a washing machine, but unfortunately there is no dryer (and things take a long time to airdry in Venice).
This apartment was perfect in it's location to be able to walk and see just about all of Venice. The owner met us at the Rialto Bridge bus stop and he took us to the property and explain how everything worked and provided a map and gave lots of helpful suggestions. The apartment was very clean and well equipped in the kitchen. We were very disappointed with the smaller bedroom. It was poorly equipped. The closest to hang clothes was hidden behind a narrow mirror and was very small & difficult to access. There were no dressers, drawers or cabinets to put anything away in so you had to try to hang all your clothes in this tiny corner spot. The hang rod was 6.5' high to it was difficult to reach. The room was arranged in a very strange manner. There was no light or table beside the very very narrow bed. It had a large glass table in the room that should have been in a hallway or living room. It also had a very odd huge black pleather ottoman/chair that had a very low pleather roll pillow on the back of it. Not something one would want to sit on to do anything because it was so deep to sit on your feet would be a foot off the ground and the pillow to rest your back on was only about 6`` high. The two piece bathroom off this bedroom was fine. The other bedroom was large, had a massive cabinet to hold your clothes, a hidden safe and lots of shelves. My only complaint was the height of the rods to hang your clothes. One needed to be 6'tall to reach them they were placed so high up in the cabinets. Main bathroom was very nice. This apartment had lovely big windows that opened in various ways to let in fresh air and street hussle-bussle. They also made the apartment very quiet for sleeping if there was street noise. One felt very safe in the apartment as there was steel entry door with three deadbolts to get through which made us first wonder if crime was a big problem that one needed that much security. We never felt day or night that it was unsafe ever.
Plafonds anciens superbes.Accueil agréable et bonne communication.
Easy phone instructions took us from the train to the Rialto where we were met by Marco who instantly made us feel very welcome. After leading us through the narrow streets we found the block and sent the baggage up in the lift. The building and the apartment are modern, spotless, efficient and really comfortable. Marco gave us the best orientation to the unit and its facilities as well as everything we needed to know about Venice to get the most from our 4 day stay: up to date information relevant to our location and needs and not in the guidebook. We made it to 2 of his recommended restaurants and they were terrific! We did so much each day we needed the comfort and cool of the place to rest briefly each afternoon and loved having the wi-fi, TV, air-conditioner, coffee maker and fine kitchen. The location is fabulous: the building from the outside looks the same as others, but is fresh and modern inside. When you lean out to the window you look down at the medieval street and can see the best gelato place just near the coop. It is equally close to Rialto and St Marco's Our stay at the apartment was infinitely better than we could have had in a hotel for similar price and having all the facilities of home is a huge advantage when travelling as a family. We are grateful to Marco and his wife for the opportunity to have found such a beautiful place and we cannot wait to return asap.
The apartment is in an ideal location within walking distance to all of the sights. The apartment was equiped with everything we needed and wanted for us and our two young children. The apartment was furnished with a high chair, cot and plastic cutlery. The property was clean and well-maintained and the owner and staff provided excellent customer service. We would definitely recommend this property to travellers with young children and even older children.

We had a fabulous stay in Venice! Marco was very helpful, coming to meet us at the ferry stop and giving us helpful tips about what to see and do and even booking a restaurant for us! The apartment was brand new, spotlessly clean, comfortable and well equipped. Also it has an elevator which is a big (unusual) plus in Venice! We were traveling with a baby and I was impressed that Marco had taken the time to provide a change mat, a crib, a high chair and plastic cutlery. A very thoughtful touch! He went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable. The location is excellent: 2 min from Rialto bridge, 1 min from Susa (the excellent ice cream store nearby!) and under 10 min to San Marco square. Our stay was magical. I would highly recommend this place.

We spent a very enjoyable week in this appartment. The property had been recently refurbished, I think. It was well-appointed and well-equipped and had been thoroughly cleaned. The owner provided a travel cot for our young child and kindly also lent some toys. The property was perfectly suitable for a toddler. There were good cooking / kitchen facilities, which was important to us as we ate in most of the time (because of our child). We found Marco Malafante to be very charming and organised, and not at all obtrusive. He met us at the Grand Canal and helped us with baggage to the property. He provided all the assistance that we could ask for but otherwise left us to ourselves. The property is well located in the heart of Venice. We would certainly recommend this property to friends.
this house is very nice..it was clean and new...near rialto bridge and san marco...if we go back again in venice..we'll definitely go back..
``A Few Wonderful Days In Venice``
We found the apartment to be just perfect for our short stay in Venice. We had absolutely no problems with check-in as Marco met us at the Vaparetto and took us to the apartment. He is absolutely wonderful and very helpful with restaurant suggestions etc. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the unit also had a washing machine which was not listed on the site. We would definitely rent this apartment again and have already recommended it to friends.
stayed in the apt 3...its a good place..spacious space for 4 ppl...good size kitchen...clean place...washer available..but drying clothes took awhile since we had to hang it...they have an elevator...if we go back..we'll stay here again.
We had a very enjoyable 5 nights in this apartment. Everything was brand new and spotless, and Caroline and Marco were very welcoming and organized. It was very nice to come ``home`` at lunchtime after a morning spent exploring the back streets, and prepare a simple lunch with the fabulous vegetables bought at the Rialto market. It was so much better than staying in a hotel! I would recommend this apartment, and in general the Red House Company, to anybody who would ask for advice about Venice, and we will probably be back soon. Our holiday was not exactly inexpensive, but then Venice is an expensive city anyway.
